Asia has been a popular tourist destination for the last 30 years already. That is not surprising, since the continent extends over roughly 45 million square kilometres. With that much space, there must simply be many beautiful places! You may think that it is mainly backpackers and families who visit Asia, but indeed it is also a fantastic place to visit for couples on their honeymoon. Whether you rather have a beach trip, adventure or pure wellness – Asia got you covered. Let us introduce to you the best honeymoon destinations in Asia!

1. Maldives

Straight away, the Maldives are the most iconic honeymoon destination you could think of. The group of islands is as big as 1200 in the Indian Ocean and offers some of the most close-to-paradise sceneries. You have probably seen the luxury water bungalows built directly into the sea in which you can directly jump from your room into the wet, with white beaches surrounding you. What makes the Maldives an especially suitable destination for honeymoon is that the local hotels have specialized in experiences for couples, so you can expect a perfect trip with your loved one.

2. Bali

Any couple that is visiting the Indonesian island of Bali can expect tropical climate and jungle, promising an adventurous time. With beautiful temples and stunning views over rice fields, jungles and waterfalls, but also fantastic beach bays in the south you will certainly not get bored here and make some amazing impressions with your partners. Of course, the numerous luxury hotels also invite you to relax and enjoy the new bound of life, making Bali one of the best honeymoon destinations in Asia.

3. Thailand

One of the most popular tourist destinations in general, Thailand is especially famous for its honeymoon suitability. With its fantastic beaches and lively cities, honeymooners can look forward to some of the best times of their lives. There are many different seaside resorts in Thailand, such as Phuket or Khao Lak, which are the best locations to spend your honeymoon. The probably most beautiful and sunniest bathing resorts are however during the summer months the areas around Koh Samui. But even if you choose to visit somewhere else in Thailand, you will likely have a great time, especially when your partner is by your side!

4. Vietnam

Spending your honeymoon in Vietnam means going on discovery, taking an adventure and enjoying it with all your senses. With the country’s interesting culture and history, you will even learn something on the way. With both unspoiled nature and vibrant cities, you get the best of two worlds here and the food also speaks for itself – so grab your partner, get a scooter and explore Vietnam as one of the best honeymoon destinations in Asia!

5. Malaysia

With an exciting capital, beautiful beaches, historic cities and high-class luxury resorts, Malaysia has everything you could ask for during your honeymoon. From the vibrant capital Kuala Lumpur, you can easily head to private island paradises in the country with white beaches and blue sea. Since Malaysia is not a typical honeymoon destination, we think it is even more of a good idea to go there since prices are comparably low and you would more feel like having a special honeymoon trip.

6. Philippines

With more than 7000 islands, it can be hard to make a choice where on the Philippines to spend your honeymoon. Good news is, you can do island hopping by boat and see multiple places it! However, you still won’t get to all of them. Different areas of the Philippines are famous for different things, so it is good to check out the best things to do on the Philippines before. Most spots have a beautiful scenery with perfect sea water that makes every diver and snorkeler happy, as well as a tropical atmosphere in which you can just let yourself be caught in your honeymoon dream – thereby, the Philippines are one of the best honeymoon destinations in Asia and we hope you will have a good one with your love!

We all know about the rich celebrities who pay as much money for a coffee as others pay for a whole holiday trip. But how do these people spend their vacation? Probably not in one of the 4-star family hotels. In the most exclusive locations, renowned hoteliers have created luxurious monuments that attract a very special and small customer group – the richest 1% of the planet. They spend five-figure sums per night and leave no space for imagination in the most expensive hotels in the world – and we have looked into some of them more detailed!

5. Maharajah’s Pavilion in Raj Palace

Price: 34,000€ per night

Being one of the most expensive hotels in Asia, the Maharaja Pavilion in Raj Palace was built in 1727, previously as the Maharaja Palace. It is located in Jaipur, India, and extends over four floors at a price of not less than 34,000€ per night. In general, that is a really big sum – but especially for Indian standards. However, you can expect the rooms to be fully booked at most times.
Included in the price for the Pavilion Suite you will have a private elevator to your rooms and a more than 1,400m² space for you and your guests. The hotel also features a private museum, swimming pools, a library and an in-house butler!

4 The Hilltop Estate in Laucala Island Resort

Price: 48,000€ per night

In the Laucala Island Resort of the Fiji Islands you can find a lot of glamorous villas but the Hilltop Estate “Delana” is for sure the most exclusive one. It was built on the highest point of the island and is shielded from the rest of the complex by a palm forest. As a guest, you will have a magnificent view over the local archipelago and the green hills of Laucala Island. If you book a night at the Hilltop Estate Delana, you will have private bath- and livingrooms, guest apartments, a private pool area and a library on 1,200m². Also, food and most drinks are complimentary. However, this place comes at a price of 48,000€ per night.

3. Ty Warner Penthouse Suite in Four Seasons

Price: 54,000€ per night

The Four Seasons Hotel in New York houses is one of the most expensive hotels in the world. Named after the billionaire owner of the Four Seasons, the Ty Warner Suite is the most expensive suite in the entire hotel and it took around seven years to construct, design and finish the suite. The result is a 400m² penthouse suite at a height of 200 meters, directly in Manhattan. One of the best things about the suite is probably the 360 degree view over New York’s skyline and its large glass balcony. However, there are also nice-to-haves such as a piano and a library included as well as a chauffeur driving a Rolls-Royce.

2. President Wilson Hotel in Geneva

Price: 62,000€ per night

One of the most expensive hotels in the world is located in the French-speaking part of Switzerland in Geneva with the President Wilson Hotel. Its royal penthouse suite is considered to be the largest and most luxurious hotel suite in Europe, offering a panoramic view over Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps. The suite comes with more than 10 bedrooms and bathrooms, a piano, a private elevator and gym as well as lots of arts. However, this will cost you around 62,000€ per night. For that you can live like a monarch on 1,680m² and a home cinema. Previous guests include Bill Gates, Michael Jackson and Rihanna, so if you want to be close to your idols, this could be one possible way!

1 The Grand Penthouse in The Mark Hotel New York

Price: 94,000€ per night

Featuring another hotel in New York, The Mark Hotel is currently the most expensive hotel in the world with its Grand Penthouse which extends over more than 400m² and comes with five bedrooms. Here you will also have a private elevator that gets you to the roof terrace with one of the best views you can get in New Yorker hotels. Inside the Penthouse you will find two bars, a library and a big dining area. If you ever wanted to get your hair cut while having dinner, you can do that here as the Mark Hotel has a private hairdresser. However, be prepared to pay as much as 94,000€ per night – maybe you should split the cost with your friends.

A Taste of Luxury

Even if any of us had 50,000€ lying around, there might be better options to spend them than sleeping a night in one of the most expensive hotels. However, these suites and penthouses are real and some people actually book them for more than a night. When it comes to luxury, your imagination can probably never capture everything that is possible and we hope that we could give you a good overview of what is possible (theoretically, with a big wallet).
